MACCINDO is a small homegrown men’s underwear brand made in Serbia.
Inspired by tradition, the brand interweaves old-world charm and modern-day tenacity, making it an integral part of the modern man and his fashion choices.
Through the art of weaving objects with traditional symbols, intangible values have been transmitted over the years.

The Story – Bomb
The symbol on the red waistband is known as ‘Bomb’.
Originally created during the process of weaving the Pirot carpet, the symbol changed its name several times over history.
It was known as ‘the Parisian Pattern‘, when one of the carpets with a predominant symbol of the bomb was specially weaved by Balkan women to be displayed at the Paris Exhibition, renowned global fair in the 1900s.
Later, during the Balkan Wars and World War l, the pattern finally changed its name into ‘Bomb’, primarily because of its resemblance with the hand grenade weapon.
Understanding the heroic importance of the symbol, carpets with this pattern were given to men who were sent to defend their homeland.
It is believed that possessing an item with this ornament would bring them courage and heroism, while also protecting them.
Today, the Bomb symbol is traditionally identified with strong-willed men – those who are starting their own businesses, careers, families, or any other important life chapter.
Legend has it that the Bomb symbol provides men with strength, energy and power.
The Story – Turtle
The symbol on the blue waistband is known as ‘Turtle’.
The turtle motif is the most prevalent and one of the most ancient patterns found on Pirot kilims. Famously referred to as “željka,” it has established itself as an emblematic symbol of Pirot kilims and is proudly featured on the official coat of arms of the City of Pirot.
The design resembles a reclining turtle when viewed from above. According to folklore, the turtle serves as a timekeeper and embodies the concepts of resilience and longevity. It is believed that its shell possesses a unique ability to ward off any harm.
This embellishment functions as a charm for fertility, safeguarding, joy, and well-being, frequently presented as a gift to wish for a joyful and healthy life.
It is a symbol for the unity and harmony of the family, where everyone know their place and importance in the family.
